OUR PLANET – 5 MIN POEM

I am sitting on my bed staring at the huge world map I have hung on my wall.

The colours are simply beautiful. Muted yellows, browns and oranges make up everything we can reach.

I try to imagine how big it all is.

“The world is a small place” people tell me.

But is it really?

My little country surrounded by huge shapes. The names stare at me, provoke pictures but everything is blurry. Mexican food, Brazilian beaches, Russian vodka and Australian animals.

Different continents shaped to form our home.

And then there is this vast space filled with water. Unexplored oceans full of mystery.

I am drowning in the unknown.

How much do I get to see of it?
